It is planned to carry out up to 800 surgeries (of different purposes) annually at the department.
There are 6 neurosurgeons, 1 neurologist, 1 ophthalmologist, qualified nurses in the department.
Research work conducted in the department is dedicated to actual questions of neurosurgery.
The department base houses the department of neurology and neurosurgery of the Faculty of Post-Qualifying Education of Kazan State Medical University.
Kinds of Surgeries
- Disrupted and non-disrupted arterial cerebrum aneurysms (for transcranial clipping and endovascular thrombosing)
- Arterivenous malformation of brain and spinal cord (for carrying out endovascular aids and open operations)
- Arteriovenous communications (for endovascular aids)
- Nontraumatic intracranial hematomae (for transcranial and stereotaxic elimination and drainage of ventricular system)
- Ischemic brain disease (for endarterectomy, stenting, cerebral revasculization methods, bioengineering modelling of vascular brain system)
- Cerebral and spinal tumour requiring preliminary endovascular occlusion of feeding vessel, stereotaxic biopsy, application of microscope at performing surgeries and endoscopic aids.
- Subcortical nodes dysfunction, trigeminal neuralgia, epilepsy, facet-syndromes (for stereotaxic aids)
- Failures of nervous system development and hydrocephaly (particularly for diacele fundus perforation)
- Intervertebrally associated compression of spinal cord and roots (for performing open operations and endoscopic aids)
