Radiation detection (radionuclide diagnostics )- is a modern medical diagnostic method; unlike traditional roentgenology, ultrasound investigation, computerized sectional roentgenography, magnetic resonance imaging, searching morphological organs peculiarities, first of all it is a functional diagnostic method, which allows to judge not only organ anatomy but its performance in whole and separate morphological constitutions. This allows detecting various deseases in early courses of disease in due time, by virtue of radionuclide diagnostics can be defined as special kind of early roentgen diagnostics.

How does radioisotopic examination take place?

Radionuclide image acquisition is rooted in registration of radioactive radiation proceeded from radiopharmaceuticals. Radiopharmaceutical is a chemical combination, containing in its molecule special radioactive nuclide, permitted to human injection with diagnostic and medical purpose. Mentioned substances are able to accumulate in certain organs and reflect physiological and biochemical processes changes proceeding in them.

How safe is nuclear medicine methods?
Radiation exposure on critical organs does not exceed values limit and much less than in the course of X-ray examinations. The study is a low-invasive (radioisotope is injected intravenous); it does not cause any allergic reactions.
